What You'll Discover In This Episode:
The tremendous value community and collaboration can provide to oneās business has never been clearer to me than in the past few years.
During that time, I purposefully built strong connections with the handful of business owners whose advice I respected, values I shared, and company I enjoyed.
I selected those women to be my Trusted Advisory Council and they mutually selected me to be a part of theirs. We had gotten to know each other well, loved the expertise and support we were able to offer one another, and therefore chose to do life and business.
And what a few years itās been building our relationships!
I count on these women to pull me up when aspects of my business are incredibly challenging, celebrate with me when things are good, and tell it to me straight when Iām making poor decisions that might lead me astray from my vision of success.
I also intentionally invest in them and their businesses. Relationships (even business-oriented ones) must be a two-way street.
Now, Iāve been in masterminds before, but theyāve fizzled out, I outgrew them, or they just went in a direction that didnāt align with my goals.
I donāt see that happening with this group because we truly chose each other, cultivated a friendship, and continue to invest in one anotherās personal lives and businesses. A number of us meet every other Friday to mastermind, connect, collaborate, and leverage each otherās unique specialties to the benefit of our own businesses.
And it works! I know my business would not have had the major wins itās had over the past few years had I not leaned on my Trusted Advisory Council to see me through, over, and around some major obstacles that were stunting my growth. I owe a lot to these ladies.
Now you may consider yourself an introvert but I am telling you, curated community and collaboration is not just for extroverts.
Itās for any business owner who wants to level up their business and create a better life for his or herself. I assure you, there are other business owners who need that sort of relationship just as much as you do, specialize in a field you donāt, and who would welcome you and what you have to offer into their inner circle.
In this episode of Productivity Straight Talk, I sit down with two members of my Trusted Advisory Council, Amanda Berlin and Jamie Lieberman, to discuss the importance of collaborations, alliances, and brother/sisterhood, and the power they can bring when you choose to do life and business with the right people.
