What You'll Discover In This Episode:
Long before I got into podcasting, I blogged. I originally started blogging because everyone was doing it. Blogging seemed like THE way to promote your brand, build a following, and grow your business.
I despised every minute of the blogging process because nothing about it felt natural. I wasn’t a good writer. I couldn’t spell to save my life. I have memories of pacing back and forth behind my assistant dictating my thoughts and content while she typed away in a Google doc and added transitional phrases. It was a painstaking task that I dreaded each week because it just didn’t feel like me. It was no surprise at all that my blog never got any traction.
What turned out to be a surprise was how long it took me to figure out that I loved podcasting and should make it my #1 business marketing strategy. I would leave my tortuous blogging sessions, hop in the car, and listen to podcasts the whole way home after all. Once I got into podcasting, it felt natural. I didn’t have to write. I didn't have to worry about spelling or transitional phrases. I just had to talk directly to an audience of business owners, the people I LOVE serving anyway. Podcasting and me just click. I am no longer working against the grain but instead, leaning into what I enjoy and do fairly well. And guess what? I got some traction with it, too 😉
Success in marketing really is all about consistency so if you’re using a strategy that is so far outside your box - so far out of your skillset, you’re probably not going to do it long enough or consistently enough to get traction and be successful with it. And that’s exactly what branding and marketing expert, Christina Frei, sat down to discuss with me - honoring your unique marketing archetype so you can show up your best in your marketing efforts.
In this week’s episode of Small Business Straight Talk, we dive into optimizing your unique marketing archetype which is YOUR way to communicate that gets you clients AND makes a difference.

About Guest:
Christina Frei runs Innate Marketing Genius, a boutique marketing practice helping clients get great clients through authentic marketing. Her approach, Marketing for Humans, determines their true voice and launches a content-rich, expertise-building strategy. This all came out of a field study with 40 business owners, which is featured in her recent TEDx talk, Paradox of Loneliness. In between, she chases her small terrier around with a stuffed animal snake, meditates on a pink couch, cold plunges like Wim Hof all year long, and obsesses over the perfect cup of green tea, all in a seaside town north of Boston.
