You might have just read those two short sentences and thought something like, āWhy would I spend time planning my day whenā¦ I already have too much on my plate each day and so many unexpected things happen that are out of my control?ā
Sure, I get it. Situations likeā¦
My kid is sick and home from school
Iām feel terrible
A deadline is fast-approaching but the work is taking much longer than expected
My employee calls out
A project goes sideways
My client needs to speak to me right away
I get stuck in traffic between meetings
My client cancels an appointment
A vendor is late for a meeting and it runs over
An upsetting email lands in my inbox
A deadline is fast-approaching but the work is taking much longer than expected
My team membersā work is not to my standards
I severely underestimate how long a task will take
I agree that no day will go as planned but encourage you to plan anyway because doing so will give you the best shot at setting yourself up for maximum productivity and success, and put you in the driver's seat of your business.
