Money is awesome. It has so many favorable uses.

You can spend it, save it, invest it, and charitably give it away to those who need it more than you.

Money can help you purchase your needs and wants, grow your business, create a better life for your family, and live out a more fulfilling retirement,

Money is an awesome resource when it’s used for good.

But you know what resource is even more awesome and precious than money?

Time.

That’s because if someone robbed you of all your money, you’d be able to make more but not if someone robbed you of all your time. You can’t make more, buy more, earn more, or have a genie in a lamp conjure up some more.

We all have the same 24 hours in a day and once it’s gone, it’s gone.

That is why it is incredibly important that you respect your precious time and use it wisely.

But… it’s not enough for you to respect your time. Others must respect it, too, or they’ll consume it liberally without a second thought.

The key is to communicate your time boundaries with those who disrespect it to ensure they respect it moving forward.

Easier said than done, sure, and there are no guarantees, but over the years I’ve grown such an appreciation for my time that I’ve been empowered to stick up for it, knowing that people will only treat me the way I allow them to treat me.

In this episode of Productivity Straight Talk, I share some specific stories of when I felt my time was disrespected and the actions I took to ensure my time was not disrespected by those same people again. These sorts of experiences likely ring true for you also, so I hope my remedies help you become a better steward of your own time by empowering you to clearly communicate your boundaries surrounding your most precious resource.
