What You'll Discover In This Episode:
I’ve never been a big fan of sports (my husband is a big enough fan for both of us 😉).
But that could change soon now that we have our new NFL team in Las Vegas (GO RAIDERS GO!).
And while I’m not a big fan of baseball (it’s a tad too slow-paced for me), I know enough to understand my great friend Hilary’s baseball analogy. Here it goes…
As a business owner, when it comes to your business’ revenue… are you standing at home plate swinging at pitches? Or are you standing on the pitcher’s mound throwing the ball?
Another way of saying this would be, are you haphazardly throwing your revenue back into your business and whatever’s left over into your bank account or are you intentionally and thoughtfully directing your revenue where to go so it can benefit you and your business the most?
I’ll tell you what… I want to be the one throwing the ball. I want full control over the money I work so hard to earn and I want to manage it well so it will blossom and grow. I want to see the literal fruits of my labor in the form of growing my business but also in the home, cars, toys, restaurants, vacations, and college fund we’re able to responsibly afford.
My business is my passion and it’s success matters the world to me, but so does the financial freedom of my family.
Face it - if you’re not paying yourself well, you’re a slave to your business, always putting in way more effort than what you get out of it.
It’s great to make money but it’s a much greater thing to build wealth and your personal net worth by masterminding your money.
If you don’t have a strategic plan for where your revenue goes that includes setting yourself and your family up for financial success, make the commitment to start taking better control of your finances today!
In this episode of Productivity Straight Talk, I sit down with my friend I spoke about above who is the Founder of Hendershott Wealth Management, Hilary Hendershott. We discuss how important it is to be paying yourself for all the hard work you do, not just reinvesting your profits back into your business. Otherwise, your sabotaging your personal net worth, your sanity, and the future of your business because guess what? If you’re not bringing home the bacon, you’re not going to want to keep feeding the pig!
