You might be really great at selling if your prospective client is ready to buy right then and thereā€¦

You might be really great at working a lead that is right in front of youā€¦

But when you invest your time and energy into sales calls and consultations and they are not ready to buy, do you have a great follow-up system in place so you can nurture the lead and convert them to a client down the road? Many great business owners simply donā€™t so they waste what would be incredible opportunities to sell their services to ready buyers.

The way I see it, sales can often feel like hailing a cab in New York. You keep waving your hand in the air as cabs fly by but youā€™re only going to be successful in hailing a cab when one comes your direction that is ready for its next passenger. But hereā€™s the thing, you will never know if thereā€™s an empty cab you could get into if youā€™re not out there trying to hail one in the first place. You have to stay in front of your potential clients so when theyā€™re ready to buy, youā€™re right there to sell and thatā€™s why lead nurturing is so important.

Then, once youā€™ve turned a lead into a client, you need a system in place to keep nurturing them so when they are ready to buy again or they are asked for a referral, you and your business are still front of mind. That way, they will keep buying from you and sending leads your way (read: keep the sales faucet on!). All of that can be accomplished with a quality Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software system whose features meet your businessā€™ needs.
