What You'll Discover In This Episode:
Years ago, I had a dream car in mind that I wanted to buy and I wasnāt going to settle for anything less.
I knew the year, the make, the model, the color, the interior, the engine, and all the options.
I created my dream car online using the manufacturerās design tool, printed it out, and pasted it to my vision board where Iād see it every day.
There were only two pre-requisites I couldnāt print out:
My notion that my dream car could not be brand new because I refuse to lose thousands of dollars just by driving a depreciating asset off a car lot.
My notion that my dream car will have been returned to the dealership after someone else had used it for only a couple of months and in the same year that I was ready to purchase it.
Big ask, right?!?!?
Colossal, Iād say. I probably had a better chance of winning the lotto than getting everything I wanted in my dream car.
That didnāt matter though. I had a dream and I was going after it.
I constantly checked online and print publications that sold used cars. I was patient and steadfast, knowing it might take a long time to come across my dream car.
And you know what? My diligence and patience paid off. I found my exact dream car down to the color of the seat stitching and I got to drive that baby off the lot that same day!
Now, if I hadnāt flushed out the details of exactly what I wanted my dream car to be, would I have settled for any used car that fit my general idea for what I wanted to drive and been satisfied with it? Maybe. But because I did get super clear about what my dream car looked like, I wasnāt just satisfied with it; I was head-over-stilettos in love with it!
Wouldnāt it be amazing to feel that strongly about all the goals you achieve and be absolutely in love with and wouldnāt change a thing about your car, house, children, pets, contributions, and business? If you screamed YES!!! I encourage you to not not only dream up your goals in your head which can leave them unclear and you settling for a business that runs you instead of the other way around but instead, take them a productive step forward by adding them to a vision board.
Using a vision board is an effective and fun way to download all of the dreams and goals swirling around in your head and turn them into something real and tangible that you can see and be motivated by every day.
It wasnāt by accident that I landed my unicorn of a dream car. It was because I kept all of its carefully thought out characteristics front of mind until I found exactly what I wanted.
I want that same kind of success for you!
