What You'll Discover In This Episode:
The business world as we know it is changing.
A greater number of people than ever are working remotely from the comfort of their own homes. Yes, Covid-19 and quarantine periods are responsible for the colossal uptick in remote work that has occurred over the past 10 months, with more and more employers (88%) encouraging their employees to work from home if and when possible in an effort to not add fuel to the coronavirus fire thatās continued to spread.
But the truth is, working remotely has been trending upward for a while now, long before this global pandemic, thanks to innovations in technology that have made a rewarding career from behind your computer screen possible.
And I must say, Iām a big fan of having an online business where I rarely have to leave my house. I love that I donāt have to commute across town and pack my lunch five days a week, fight traffic, and spend a small fortune on gas, car maintenance, and a business office.
I love that I can wear whatever I want, take care of my dogs, and get to see the two people I love most in the world during breaks throughout my day.
Apparently, you appreciate the idea of working remotely, too. According to Buffer, 99% of people would like to work remotely, at least some of the time, for the rest of their career.
So clearly, you get it. Working remotely has tons of benefits, especially if youāre a business owner who gets to create your own schedule and do the majority of your work online or at home.
The allure of working from home for the long haul has inspired many people to make the jump from employee to entrepreneur.
The problem becomes when people make that jump but fail to re-wire their brains to think like an entrepreneur and acquire the necessary life skills to run a business.
Perhaps that you. Perhaps you havenāt taken ownership of the fact that YOU are your biggest resource but YOU can also be your greatest obstacle to success if youāre not equipped to attain it.
In order to thrive in business, you must attain such life skills as being able to identify and focus during your peak performance period and design your own day instead of copying someone elseās cookie-cutter model.
My guest on this weekās episode of Productivity Straight Talk, Stephen Warley, has spent a great amount of time figuring out which life skills are needed to build and run a business successfully.
So whether youāre a longtime business owner or a longtime employee whoās recently made the jump to entrepreneurship because you were inspired to start an online business, I hope you tune into this weekās episode to get Stephenās valuable tips for attaining the life skills that can make or break your entrepreneurial success.
