What You'll Discover In This Episode:
Ever heard of time blindness? Sounds like some sort of time management disability, right? That vendor who is constantly running late might come to mind. Or perhaps your team member who always submits work past the due date you assigned or right in the nick of time. Surely, they are time blind. Youāre right, as everyone is impacted by the phenomenon of losing track of time. Yes, even you!
Consider when youāre in the theater watching a movie, rocking out at a concert, attending a sporting event, or laying at the beach, sun on your face and piƱa colada in your hand. You want to be care-free and lose track of time during those activities so you can actually enjoy them. So, itās a benefit that you can tune out time, live in the moment, and give in to time blindness on occasion. We donāt always suffer from time blindness. We can most certainly benefit from it, too.
When time blindness really causes issues though, is when it creeps up unintentionally. Non-selective time blindness can be difficult to control, hard to turn off, and detrimental to your work and relationships. It can cause you to mismanage your time, struggle with switchtasking, procrastinate, overcommit, find it difficult to plan your days, feel defeated and more.
