I get asked a particular question so much that it’s high time I gave you the answer.

That question is How much time should I spend on training and what bucket does it belong in?

In case you’re a new subscriber or just need a quick refresher course, the buckets the question is referring to are my high-value activity buckets. There are five of them and each one represents and an area in your business where you spend a great deal of your time.

I encourage my clients to spend the most time in the bucket which provides the greatest return and propels them toward achieving their goals. That’s being productive after all!

The problem is entrepreneurs sometimes fall off track and live in the Other bucket - the one representing all the administrative and miscellaneous tasks. When that happens, you just keep sprinting on this never-ending hamster wheel and feel the giant side effect of overwhelm while getting nowhere.

It’s super important to audit your time and make sure you’re not spending too much time in the Other bucket or any bucket, for that matter, because you’d be neglecting the others.

Training and support should definitely have a spot in your schedule and in one of the buckets but how much time should be spent on it and in which one? Tune in to this week’s episode of Productivity Straight Talk to find out!
