What You'll Discover In This Episode:
Let’s have a little chat about getting uncomfortable.
Not in the sense of trying to get some quality shuteye on an airplane (nearly impossible!) but in the sense of proactively putting ourselves in uncomfortable situations.
We do it all the time.
We go to networking events hoping to score leads.
We get to work on exciting projects without a clue what results it’ll provide.
We start conversations with people we don’t know.
We invest in new ideas and collaborations with no promise of a return.
We put our guard down and open up to a friend or family member.
We try a new sport. Buy new technology. Renew our branding.
And the reason we do it?
Because when we put ourselves in uncomfortable situations, a bit of magic happens. We set ourselves up for growth.
The most growth happens when you’re putting your ego, your checkbook, or your heart on the line. You’ve heard the saying, ‘The bigger the risk, the greater the reward,” and that’s often true when it comes to such intentional discomfort. You’re giving a little of yourself in hopes of getting a lot back, whether that’s a new client, friendship, skill, or milestone in your business.
Well, in this episode of Productivity Straight Talk I purposefully step outside my comfort zone to try something new, and that something new is exposing my personal life on my podcast.
I move to the other side of the mic for an in-depth interview with my assistant Krystle. She asks personal questions about my upbringing, my college years, my family life, and strives to get to the bottom of who I really am. It’s an all access pass behind the curtains of my life and I was nervous! I was also really glad with how it turned out.
